Description
This course comprises six modules including:
Introduction to
organisations
The external environment
Marketing
Human Resource
Management
Operations Management
Accounting and
Finance
The aims of the course are similar to those of the standard level, except
that it requires much greater analytical skills and depth of knowledge.
Students will be required to read newspapers and business journals to
keep updated on economic and business issues of the real world. Students
have to complete a research project of 2000 words, studying a problem
or problems encountered by an organisation.
Assessment
This course is both a credit course and assessed externally by the IBO
at the end of the second year of study (as part of the IB Diploma programme
or as a separate IB certificate). Assessment is by two examinations, paper
1 counting 40% and paper 2 counting 35% and research project counting
25%.
