My name is Miriam Clark, I am British and moved to Singapore seven years ago with my husband and three children.
I trained as a teacher in the UK at Bedford College specialising in P.E. and English. This led to work in Secondary Schools where I taught Sport, Swimming, Dance. Drama and English to children aged 11 to 16 eventually becoming Head of Dept in Girls P.E. My favourite sports are netball and tennis and I particularly enjoyed coaching school teams.
My greatest passion is in dance and the theatre. I have therefore been involved in
teaching dance and drama as well as choreography for shows and concerts with a variety of age groups.
When my own children were small I trained in early years education and became a classroom teacher for 5 to 7 yr olds. I did this for 5 years before moving to Singapore and this is my fourth year working as a Kindergarten P.E. and swimming teacher. I am also now working with all the grade1 children on the exciting new transition course ‘Movement Skills” which incoporates games and coordination skills with dance and drama
Because I have a both a P.E. and early years education background my work at O.F.S is purposeful, extremely enjoyable and rewarding. My philosophy is simply, “Let the children run!” and I am delighted that I have a job which allows just that.
Miriam Clark.
