About OFS - Overseas Family School Singapore

OFS provides a modern education in the English language for Overseas Families living in Singapore.

OFS curriculum is the International Early Years Curriculum (IEYC) Pre-K1 (2 years old) to K2, International Primary Curriculum (IPC) Grades 1 to 5 and International Baccalaureate (IB) Grades 6 to 12.

OFS has students from over 70 countries with new school capacity at all levels.

OFS faculty is a professional team of highly qualified and experienced teachers from about 40 countries.

OFS students study Foreign Languages chosen from English, French, German, Hindi, Japanese, Mandarin or Spanish. Or

OFS students, from Pre K2 to Grade 8, may choose to study their own Mother Tongue four hours per week within the school timetable. Or

OFS Study Preparation Program (SPP) helps students quickly learn to read, write, understand and speak English while also maintaining their grade level by age.

A Brief

HISTORY

September 1991

Overseas Family School (OFS) started, with classes in all Grades. Situated first at the previous Singapore Teacher Training College, 25F Paterson Road, Singapore 238515, always considered a temporary site for the school, and now located at 81 Pasir Ris Heights, Singapore 519292.

February 2013

The parent company Overseas Education Limited was listed on the Singapore Stock Exchange with Overseas Family School Limited as its subsidiary company and sole asset. The purpose of this listing was to finance a new school facility at 81 Pasir Ris Heights, Singapore 519292.

May 2015

The new OFS school facility, with extensive lower level parking, was designed for 5,000 and is currently government approved for 4,800 students. The project was completed on time within budget, approved for occupancy (TOP) in May 2015 and obtained final permission (CSC) in May 2017.

June 2015

After the end of that school year, OFS moved, on schedule, from Paterson Road to its new campus.

August 2015

Classes commenced in the new Pasir Ris campus.

June 2016

At the end of its first school year in the new premises, OFS completed its 25th year as a foreign system school serving the overseas community in Singapore, now with students from over 70 countries attending the school.

The OFS Parent Association is a volunteer body funded by the school. It marshals the energies of parent volunteers to organise events such as parent Coffee Mornings and the annual Global Picnic. It helps with translations, refreshments, displays and decorations at our children's school events, meetings and graduation ceremonies. It is also a place where parents can interact with people from all parts of the world, learn about new cultures and make friends for life.
