  1. Norwegian Mother Tongue Teacher

  2. Dutch Mother Tongue Teacher

Both Norwegian and Dutch Mother Tongue will be introduced as part of the school curriculum to native speakers of the above languages in Kindergarten through to Grade 5 in the Elementary School, for 4 periods

Interested applicants must be:

  • Native speakers of the language with teacher training and a degree earned in Norway or Netherlands
  • Qualified to teach in your home country
  • Have experience teaching Kindergarten/Primary students
  • Fluent also in English

Chess Teacher / Coach

Overseas Family School, Singapore offers a unique position as a full-time Chess teacher & coach.

All students in our Elementary School (and K2) have one hour per week of Chess, conducted by class teachers, with support from a full time, experienced Chess teacher/coach.

The school has a dedicated Chess room, permanently set up with around 100 Chess boards. Chess is seen as part of our intellectual development program as a medium to expand student abilities, particularly in strategic thinking.

It is likely that there will be support from a higher level chess player, to assist with extension of students with high levels of performance, of which we have increasing numbers.

The successful candidate will be:

  • a qualified and experienced teacher who has a real interest in Chess and a history of supporting and coaching children in Chess.
  • able to teach and relate to students of all ages, abilities and nationalities
  • able to structure a programme that continues to improve and develop student Chess understanding and performance, promoting an analytical approach to the game
  • able to run professional development for teachers, so they can support their students
  • willing to run regular tournaments within our school, and also inter-school and international tournaments
  • support Chess players at other levels of the school
