The Overseas Family School, in partnership with Kids DiscoveryWorks, is proud to offer exciting new enrichment activities that brings Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) to Kindergarten and Elementary School children. Through early exposure to hands-on experiments and learning activities, children will better understand maths, science and engineering concepts.
Have an aspiring astronaut or astronomer at home? Launch them on a space exploration adventure! Through engaging hands-on experiments and STEM missions, young scientists will learn about Earth, space and our solar system. Kids will have a blast:
Who doesn't love a good mystery? In this forensic science camp, junior C.S.I.s will try their hand at scientific crime-solving and learn all about crime scene processing, fingerprinting techniques, genetics and DNA testing, and more! Junior C.S.I.s will have an opportunity to develop their skills of observation, problem solving, communication, critical thinking and collaboration.
First Robotics: Planes, Trains & Automobiles
In this basic introduction to robotics, kids will have a blast learning to build and program fighter jets, helicopters, rovers and cranes using Lego WeDo! Kids will learn fun facts about different types of vehicles, build simple models and discover how to use programming blocks to make their models move. A fun and engaging way to introduce computational thinking and engineering principles to young learners.
In this fun introduction to robotics, kids will learn how to design and program progressively more challenging robots using Lego WeDo and Mindstorms. Young engineers with discover how to use motors, sensors, and attachments to make their robot perform specific tasks. The camp will culminate in a final competition where kids will battle their bots in the ring...sumo-style!
