Along with Mother Tongue and Math Coding, Chess has been an important initiative of OFS Intellectual Development Program. Together, they help our students to develop strategic thinking skill and focus well in all other academic subjects.

In line with our continuing efforts on developing student intellect, OFS has invited the Women's World Chess Champion, Grandmaster Ju Wenjun, to visit our school on Saturday, 27 April 2019. Her visit provides a unique opportunity for our students to meet a World Chess Champion, who will sign autographs and be individually photographed with students. The day will also feature other Chess activities for students.

A feature event of the full-day event will be a Simultaneous Chess Display, where Ms. Ju will play against 35 OFS and non-OFS students at the same time. The Singapore Chess Federation have indicated their support for OFS, and will be sending their top players to this chess event. We look forward to welcoming Ms. Ju, representatives from the Singapore Chess Federation, our registered guests and the OFS community to this chess event.
