Student Community Service

At the Overseas Family School, students of all grade levels, provide support and outreach not only for each other, but to others around the block and around the world.

Community service benefits students in many ways.

Develops a greater sense of social responsibility
Increases self-esteem
Fosters teambuilding skills
Raises social, environmental, and global consciousness
Strengthens interpersonal skills
Reinforces community ties

In recent years, students have planned projects to aid victims of Mother Nature's destruction, as close as Taiwan and as far away as Honduras, Turkey, and Mozambique. They regularly visit and sponsor activities at a local Red Cross children's home.

They have put on fashion shows featuring recycled fashion. They beautify local parks and beaches by picking up litter. Inside the secondary school, there are peer tutors groups- students who assist new students or students who are having difficulty with certain subjects.

High School students participate in programs like peer counseling, Riding for The Disabled, Zoo Helpers, Hydrotherapy, and charity run/walk events.

Community service creates meaning into a student's course of study and life.
