The Grade 7 students recently participated in a Model United Nations inter-disciplinary unit. The overriding theme was fair development and human rights. Science, Language and Literature, Performing Arts, Maths as well as Individuals and Societies all supported inquiry into various research questions which would in turn facilitate the student's understanding of their allocated topic. Topics that were debated amongst the represented nations included introducing a sugar tax, free water as well as mandatory electric cars. The aim was to find solutions that all countries would agree to which would in turn support the development of various SDGs.
It was apparent from the vigorous discussions, debate, speeches as well as the class performances that the conference was a success.
