64th National School Team Chess Championship 2023

Congratulations to all 17 OFS Chess Teams from Elementary, Middle and High School for competing in the prestigious 64th National School Team Chess Championship held at Rulang Primary School. This year's biggest team event was played from 6-8 September and featured 260 teams from local and international schools with students aged between 7 and 20 years old.
With an impressive display of focus and perseverance, OFS teams earned a total of 12 team medals in international category, including three gold, five silver, and four bronze. In the overall rankings, the Under-8 team led by team captain Veer Sethi was best coming in 4th place of 22 teams.
Individual top scorers for OFS were Heamish Sakthivel (Under-14) and Ashwath Kaushik (Under-12) both achieving a perfect score of six wins out of six games. Equally commendable were Aditi Mahana, Shamyak Biswas, Isaac and Jamie Ziegler for scoring 5 and 5.5 points respectively.
Once again congratulations to all 68 OFS players for giving their very best during these full-day chess events. Playing six grueling rounds of rapid chess meant recovering from set-backs and fighting back while always keeping a positive mindset. The reward were well-deserved medals and many priceless memories. Also a big thank you to Singapore Chess Federation and Rulang Primary School for organizing and hosting this Championship.
