Sports Program
OFS After School Sports Program (ASSP)
A Movement Towards Greater Student Involvement in Sports

The program is designed to encourage every student to participate in sports through a rich and diverse range of opportunities throughout the school week.

School Policy

  • All students can participate in any club or sport they are eligible for. This is an inclusive program.
  • Depending on the sport, there will be opportunities for students to compete at both intra-school and inter-school levels.
  • Through participation in sport, students develop skills that positively impact their social and academic life.
  • Training sessions finish in time for students to access their regular bus service.

Seasons

  • A simple approach - 1 season each semester. Most sports will run for approximately 12 weeks starting early in the semester up until exam periods.
  • Students are not limited to a single sport. They can participate in multiple sports throughout the week. Once registered, students are expected to commit to their sport for the season.
  • High school students are encouraged to get involved with junior sports on campus through the Community and Service program (CAS).

Sports

The following sports are some of the sports we play across all 3 schools.

Badminton
Badminton

Very popular among our students. Approximately 600 students every year sign up for badminton. With lines about to go down in the auditorium, we will be looking to host both intramural and inter-school competition.

Basketball
Basketball

With 5 outdoor courts on campus, we are able to provide plenty of space to train and options for hosting fixtures with both local and international schools.

Cricket
Cricket

We have dedicated nets for cricket training on campus. At the elementary level, the focus is very much on skill development but as the students progress, we do enter teams in the exciting Last Man Standing (LMS) Singapore competition.

Football
Football

Football, like many of our other sports is available to all students for 1 of the 2 semesters. Though some football mad students would love to play year-round, we must provide options for other forms of football. In high school students have the option to join futsal in the off-season.

Rugby
Rugby

Much like cricket, at the junior level we do focus on skill development and to prepare this students with the skills necessary for competition once they get to middle and high school.

Netball
Netball

Derived from early version of Basketball, netball is a sport we encourage many of our female basketballers to pick up. Though boys are more than welcome to join the club and do take part in at elementary and middle school level.

Touch
Touch

Touch (Rugby/Football) is a fast growing sport in Singapore. A fast and dynamic game suitable for all age groups.

Cross Country
Cross Country

Cross Country when in season is offered on days that do not conflict with students team sports. Pasir Ris Park is near by and an ideal venue for running.

Swimming
Swimming

All students can access the swim program which like cross country, is a club that can complement the team sports students may choose to join. Swim training for each school will be held on a day other than their primary team sport day.
