The Kindergarten Graduation marks the completion of the student's years in Kindergarten. The celebration includes a presentation of certificates, a concert performed by the graduating K2 class which is then followed by class parties in the children's classrooms.

In music lessons, the children have been exploring sounds and music through action songs, dance, and playing instruments. They have been learning about the different elements of music such dynamics, duration, pitch and tempo. The Kindergarten Concert will showcase what the children have learned in Music lessons throughout this academic year.

The IGCSE Mock Examinations are designed to simulate the actual testing conditions, providing students with valuable insights into the examination format. The Mock Examinations are a vital component for students' preparation, offering the opportunity to assess their knowledge, refine exam strategies, and identify areas that may require further attention.
Let's dance! During the dance, the high school student body is given the opportunity to let loose, enjoy each other's company, and dress up in accordance to a fun theme (TBD). One of our very own students will DJ the event and create a light show to go along with the music. When the students need a break from the dancing, they will be able to get some provided refreshments including pizza, water, and soda. Details of this event will be posted in the Gazette.
The children will learn about the traditions and customs of the festival of Eid al-Fitr (Festival of Breaking the Fast), also known locally as Hari Raya Aidilfitri or Hari Raya Puasa, which marks the end of Ramadan and is an occasion celebrated by Muslims worldwide. We encourage the children to come to school dressed for the occasion.
The High School Grade 9-11 students will be exhibiting their final pieces of artwork in April. The week offers a chance for our aspiring artists to showcase their work from the year. OFS families will be invited to attend the Parent's Evening on 9 April at 7:00pm.
Grade 11 Geography students attending the Barcelona trip will engage in hands-on learning by collecting and analysing primary data along the Todera River. This practical experience aims to deepen their understanding of geographical concepts. Additionally, students will explore Barcelona's sustainable and resilient city strategies, gaining insights into urban development and environmental sustainability.

Time to rock out! This event sees the best High School Bands battle it out on stage to become crowned the Best OFS School Rock Band of 2024. Students selected to compete are given a rock mentor from the industry as well as support and guidance during the rehearsals leading up to the final event where they get to play three of their best pieces to a range of judges and live audience. The week offers a chance for our aspiring artists in the lower grades to come and be inspired by their senior peers. The exhibition is also a celebration of each student's conceptual journey and creative application of media and techniques to craft their intentions into a visual form. In colour-coded teams of red, blue, yellow and green, the children will participate in different sports stations displaying their developing physical motor skills, balance and coordination.
Students in the Model United Nations Club will have the opportunity to attend DOVERMUN, and develop their public speaking, debate and leadership skills further.
The exhibition will showcase the children's favourite art pieces created during the course of the academic year. You will see samples of sculptures, box construction, printing, painting collage work and many more.
This special conference is a time for teachers, parents and students to come together to celebrate each child’s accomplishments, reflect on areas in need of strengthening and work together to identify goals that the student is to work towards. The structure of the PSTC is student-led. Each family will be scheduled a 30 minute session in the Homebase classrooms.

The Kindergarten will be celebrating Book Week from 29 January to 2 February 2024. The highlight of the Book Week celebrations will be the Book Character Parade. Students are encouraged to come to school dressed as their favourite storybook character.
The UKMT Math Competition is an optional competition for Grade 9 and 10 Mathematicians. A 60 minute, 25 multiple choice challenge, encouraging mathematical reasoning, precision of thought and fluency to make students think.
The High School Theatre club is proud to present their performance of Joseph Kesselring's comedy, "Arsenic and Old Lace". Parents and students are more than welcome to come and enjoy the show, being performed in the Black Box theater. Tickets are free but required for planning purposes. We are excited to announce that this conference will be held in person. MUN OFS XVI has both local and overseas schools participating in a range of debates on important global issues. Embracing Peace - the students of Global Politics at OFS are gearing up to take center stage as they lead the commemoration of the International Day of Peace. With a shared vision of promoting global harmony, these young leaders will organise an event filled with meaningful activities, engaging discussions, and creative expressions of peace. This is our annual blood drive for parents and staff that our HS Red Cross Chapters helps to organize. Singapore is in need of all blood types and your donation can help save lives. More information will be mailed out to the school community closer to the time.
The Grade 6 Camp allows students to engage in a range team building and problem-solving activities, including high elements and water adventures. The 3-day camp will allow students get to know each other better and challenge themselves to do things out of their comfort zone in a fun and safe environment.

Joining our great orators will be a special guest speaker, details of which will be unveiled through the HS gazette and other TEDx marketing. In the lead up to this event there are a range of activities and exhibitions set up by the TEDx team for our students to enjoy. These will explore the key themes of each TEDx talk delivered during the final presentations.

Our Grade 12 students will have an opportunity to showcase their research to both students and parents/guardians during this day. The Extended Essay is a core component of the IB Diploma and offers the students an opportunity to collect both primary and secondary research exploring a question they have created regarding one or two of the IB subjects they are passionate about. Students will get to present their 4,00 word essay and discuss their learning journey. The range of topics and questions covered will make for an extremely interesting afternoon.

The HS Club Fair is an opportunity for HS students to see what clubs and service activities are on offer for Semester 1. Students have a chance to speak to club leaders and make informed decisions about which clubs they will join this year. All HS students are encouraged to join clubs as they are a good way to meet new friends, learn new skills, and they are also important for university applications.

The Middle School Grade 8 is a time to celebrate the passage of students completing their Middle School studies and going to High School.
This formal event will be conducted in the Auditorium and is rightfully the culminating event for the Middle School.
The Elementary School Graduation is our culminating event for our Grade 5 students as they complete their education at our Elementary School and prepare to join the Middle School in the next academic year.
The Kindergarten Graduation marks the completion of the student's years in Kindergarten. The celebration includes a presentation of certificates, a concert performed by the graduating K2 class which is then followed by class parties in the children's classrooms.
A pre-graduation event for all of our Grade 8 students, to celebrate their rite of passage through Middle School to High School. The ingredients for this formal event is for our Grade 8s to wear formal attire, get yourselves to the Black Box Theatre and get ready to party!
This prestigious event is always a highlight of the High School calendar. This is where students, families, teachers and staff get to celebrate our Grade 12s completion of high school studies and begin their transition to higher education and/or national service.

The ES Lunchtime concerts give students an opportunity to showcase their talents. Students are invited to audition to perform at these concerts. Performers may play an instrument, sing or dance. Auditions occur a few weeks before the actual concerts.
Middle School examinations are just one part of the ongoing and multifaceted IB MYP assessments. It also gives our students 'real life' practice and experience of the stringent examination conditions expected at High School, especially for external examinations.
High School examinations are just one part of the ongoing and multifaceted IB MYP/DP, Pre-IB and SPP assessments. Not only do these examinations give teachers an indication of student progress, but it also provides our students with an authentic experience of the stringent examination conditions for external examinations such as the IGCSE and IB Diploma.
Individual examination schedules will be given to each student in Homebase and they can also access this via the school calendar accessible on the OFS dashboard.

The Art Exhibition will showcase our talented artists. The selected art pieces, connected to students IPC Units of Work, reflect a variety of art skills and use of media. We have food from around the world for you to sample and plenty of activities to see and do. This is a wonderful opportunity to meet other parents and experience their diverse cultures.
In music lessons, the children have been exploring sounds and music through action songs, dance, and playing instruments. They have been learning about the different elements of music such dynamics, duration, pitch and tempo. The Kindergarten Concert will showcase what the children have learned in Music lessons throughout this academic year.
Every year, the Kindergarten celebrates all the major cultural festivals observed in Singapore. The children will take part in a range of activities to learn about the festival of Eid al-Fitr (Festival of Breaking the Fast), also known locally as Hari Raya Aidilfitri or Hari Raya Puasa, which marks the end of Ramadan and is an occasion celebrated by Muslims worldwide. We encourage the children to come to school dressed for the occasion.
As a proud signatory of the Global Schools Pledge, OFS appears on the UN Sustainable Development Road Map and in line with our pledge we dedicate a full month of activities and awareness events focussing on environmental sustainability. The Grade 5 Expo is a culmination of our International Primary Curriculum Learning Journey. The Grade 5's are working hard on preparations for their Expo, for the Unit - The Holiday Show.
A week-long event celebrating 'The Arts' via our talented students, through the medium of music, visual art, drama and dance.
The Grade 4 students are looking forward to their first MUN experience and General Assembly. They will be delegates representing countries from around the world focusing on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
Time to rock out! This event sees the best High School Bands battle it out on stage to become crowned the Best OFS School Rock Band of 2023. Students selected to compete are given a rock mentor from the industry as well as support and guidance during the rehearsals leading up to the final event where they get to play three of their best pieces to a range of judges and live audience. Details of this event will be posted on the High School Gazette as well as on the OFS student learning portal.
The tournament will be joined by teams from four continents. We will highlight the main theme of the event, which is associated with the International Day against Racism. We are extremely pleased to welcome some very prominent members of the international chess community. Amongst them, Grandmaster Viswanathan Anand (former Chess World Champion) will deliver a video message addressing the participants of our event and share his view on this topic.
The exhibition will showcase the children's favourite art pieces created during the course of the academic year. You will see samples of sculptures, box construction, printing, painting collage work and many more.
Always a favourite event amongst our students and teachers, this event promises an evening of creative and engaging dances exploring concepts and representing dance styles from around the world. Students from each High School grade will showcase the projects and pieces they have been working on throughout the year. Details of the High School Dance Show will be advertised in the High School Gazette and advertised to parents.
The High School Grade 12 students will be exhibiting their final pieces of artwork that will be submitted to the IB for external assessment. The week offers a chance for our aspiring artists in the lower grades to come and be inspired by their senior peers. OFS families will be invited to attend and enjoy the creative pieces.
Our Wellness Committee working with Student Voice will be putting on a range of events to help bring lots of smiles across our campus. Exercises and experiences will help our community foster gratitude, compassion and kindness. Details of the different events will be posted in the gazette nearer the time.
The ES Parent Student Teacher Conferences will give parents and students an opportunity to meet with their child's teachers. It is a chance to visit the classrooms and for students to share their learning, as well as set goals for the remainder of the academic year.
In colour-coded teams of red, blue, yellow and green, the children will participate in different sports stations displaying their developing physical motor skills, balance and coordination.
The Middle School Parent-Student-Teacher Conferences will be held in person.

Upcoming National School Chess Championship at OFS
OFS is excited to host Singapore’s biggest chess tournament this year on 11 and 12 March 2023. A record number of 1350 students from all schools across Singapore are expected to compete in the 74th National School Individual Chess Championship. A gruelling nine rounds of rapid chess will be played to determine the winners in the various age-groups.
The ES musical is always a highlight in our calendar. Our Grade 4 and 5 students have been working hard over the last few months in preparation for this exciting event. The long awaited ES musical The Jungle Book will be performed live on 7 and 8 March 2023.

The 'Middle School Book Week' is a week-long event, coordinated to celebrate the importance and power of reading. Our students will enhance their knowledge by finding out how we get information, fact or fiction, for academic use through to fantasy. Culminating in a book character dress-up day for all staff and students on Friday, 17 February 2023.

The Grade 8 Camp will take place for 3 days and 2 nights at the Changi Civil Service Club.
This is an integral part of the development of our students and a great opportunity for experiential learning. The camp is focused on team-building and developing individual awareness, to help with relationships and to strengthen a range of personal and interpersonal skills. The camp activities are designed to reinforce the attributes of the IB Learner Profile, such as risk-taking, communication and caring for each other.
