Kindergarten Graduation

The Kindergarten Graduation marks the completion of the children's time in Kindergarten. The Graduation ceremony involves a presentation of certificates, a medley of songs performed by the K2 Graduating class, followed by a class party. We invite parents to this grand event to celebrate this important milestone.

High School Graduation Ceremony

Our end-of-year graduation ceremony recognises the completion of High School and awarding of the US accredited High School Diploma. The Diplomas are conferred at a full school assembly, followed by a reception for the graduates, their family and friends.

Elementary School Family Team Tournament 2019

This event is open to all Elementary students who will create a team together with a Family member (adult) and play against other Family teams, on two separate boards, as described below:

Board 1: Adult vs Adult
Board 2: Student vs Student.

System: 5-round Swiss
Time control: 15/0 (15 minutes for each player without increment).
Registration: Opens on Monday, May 6.

Students who wish to sign up, may collect a permission letter from the Chess Room and return it until Wednesday, May 22.

Certificates will be given to all participating students.

ES Musical Soirée

Workshop on African Djembe Drumming

With the Summer Holidays fast approaching, take a break and have some fun learning to play the Djembe (JEM-bay) drum.

Djembe (JEM-bay) drum originates from West Africa and its popularity is due to its unusually wide range of pitches. The sounds are created by striking different parts of the Djembe skin with the hands.

Throughout the academic year, the children are exposed to many different types of music and instruments to develop an appreciation for a variety of musical styles. The children experiment with making sounds and music in a wide range of activities and they learn to freely express their ideas, moods and feelings through singing, movement and dance. The Kindergarten Concerts provide the children with an opportunity to consolidate skills and demonstrate their creative and musical ability. We invite parents to this spectacular and entertaining event.

The Art Exhibitions provide an opportunity for students to showcase their creativity and originality. The selected art pieces, connected to their IPC Units of Work, reflect a variety of art skills and use of media, especially the use of recyclable materials. The exhibition is a week-long event where families and friends are welcomed to visit any time during school hours.

April Camp Fever

The Overseas Family School, in partnership with Kids DiscoveryWorks, is proud to offer exciting new enrichment activities that brings Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) to Kindergarten and Elementary School children. Through early exposure to hands-on experiments and learning activities, children will better understand maths, science and engineering concepts.

Grade 11 University Evening

This evening for parents, guardians and students is targeted at Grade 11s . The HS Academic Advisors and Language Liaison Teachers will present sessions throughout the evening, to assist with the planning process for applications to universities. Global Picnic 2019

The Global Picnic celebrates the unique cultural diversity at Overseas Family School (OFS). This event is organised by the Parent Association (PA), with the help of the OFS staff, students and the entire parent community working hand in hand. Its true spirit revolves around a desire to share your country's unique customs and traditions, games, culture and food with the OFS staff, students and parents in a lively atmosphere on a fun-filled afternoon.

HS IB2 Visual Arts Exhibition

This exhibition marks the culmination of Visual Arts course of the IB Diploma. All students in the course are required to curate their portfolio of works completed over the past two years. Parents and friends will be able to ask questions of each student, and celebrate their personal and technical progress in Fine Arts.

This is our largest Exit Point to an IPC Unit of Work in the Elementary School. In a small group, students enquire into a topic related to sustainable tourism and the responsibility of being a tourist. This is part of the "The Holiday Show" unit which runs over an 11-week period. During this time, besides developing their knowledge and understanding related to the unit, they also apply their research, thinking, communication, self-management and social skills. The school community is invited to view students' exhibits in the Auditorium.

The annual Global Picnic, an international fair where all the families in the school get together to celebrate being part of an International Culture, will take place on Saturday, 6 April 2019. This is a great opportunity for you to represent your country by bringing popular traditional food to your country table, performing a musical or dance number which represents your country, or sharing an activity from your culture. If you have any talented family members who wish to perform or family recipes to share, please come along and join in the fun.

ES Grade 4 Model United Nations (MUN)

The Model United Nations (MUN) program is a special feature within our Elementary School curriculum. In Grade 4, students are introduced to the United Nations, its purpose and structure. They represent different countries to debate around a selected food issue through the "Going Global" unit. In Grade 5, students extend this understanding as they represent different countries around the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals. The experience culminate in a General Assembly which is a simulation of the actual proceedings in the United Nations. Through this process, the students develop leadership qualities, independence, empathy, logical reasoning, perspective as well as improve on their communication skills.

Kindergarten Art Exhibition

The Kindergarten Art Exhibition provides an opportunity for children to showcase their creativity. Throughout the academic year, the children have used their senses to explore colour, texture, materials, textiles, space, line and shape. They have freely experimented with a range of art tools, construction and model making activities. They have designed and created 2D and 3D artwork, showing their understanding and knowledge of Artists and their techniques, and an appreciation of art. We invite parents to our Art Exhibition to view the children's masterpieces.

We invite parents to join us on our Games Day.

The children will be grouped in colour-coded teams and participate in a number of indoor activities and games. Through fun and safe activities such as Parachute games, Target Throw, Ball Play and Obstacle Course, the children will demonstrate their developing body control and coordination skills. The children learn about good sportsmanship as they take part in the team events, try their best and cheer on their teammates. We even have a special scooter race for the parents.

Elementary School Musical - Honk Jr.

Last year's production, Shrek Jr, saw a cast of 180 students from Grades 4 and 5. Rehearsals began in October with performances happening in early March. For our 2018-2019 production, we will be presenting Honk Jr. Auditions have taken place and all students who are interested in being involved have been assigned a role.

The highlight of the week will be the Book Character Parade to be held on the last day, Friday, 22 February 2019, when the children come dressed up as their favourite storybook character.

A workshop by Elevate Education to help parents to practically build their child's study habits long-term, so they can achieve their personal best at school.

The seminar will offer many practical tips for supporting your child's learning at home, to effectively manage their time, stay motivated. They will also discuss how parents can better support and help their children to become resilient, self-regulated and life-long learners.

Lion and Dragon Dance

Middle School Grade 8 Camp

The Grade 8 Camp is an exciting opportunity for all the Grade 8 students to step outside of the classroom and enjoy each others' company. The students undergo a range of activities such as rock climbing, obstacle courses, kayaking, hiking, archery, problem solving activities, cooking and camping. They are stretched beyond their comfort zones at times and therefore given the opportunity to strengthen their collaboration skills and resilience. The Grade 8 Camp is certainly a rewarding experience!

Middle School SPP Awards Ceremony

All SPP families are invited to attend the SPP Awards celebration which takes place in the Middle School Activity Room on level 2 of S-Block, starting at 2:30pm. This is a celebration of all the work your children have put into their studies this semester. It is also an opportunity for SPP students to show their musical and speaking talents. Lastly, this is our chance to congratulate all students who are finishing their SPP Middle School studies and moving to mainstream classes.

Each grade level has a Sports Day once per semester conducted in the morning. Students are organised into house colours and participate in a variety of games and activities that promote cooperation, teamwork, social interaction and physical motor skills. Points are awarded at each station and the winning house colour is the one with the most points collected.
