There will be 3 day/2 night grade level camps for all Middle School students throughout the school year. These prove to be an invaluable experience for building social cohesion, moving beyond one's comfort zone and enjoying the opportunity of outdoor education. The MUN Club is preparing for and building skills to attend MUN conferences throughout the year. We are excited to be able to offer a selection of students places at the centenary MUN conference at Tanglin Trust School (CENTMUN), a three-day event which promises to be a big celebration of students working together to solve global issues.
There are more exciting opportunities in Semester 2, and our school will send delegations to Stamford American International School in mid-January, and United World College South East Asia - East in mid-February. Finally, we have our own Middle School MUN Conference - MY-MUNOFS XV - which will be held 22-23 February and will see a high attendance from local international schools in Singapore and several international schools from all over Southeast Asia.

The Elementary School Graduation is our culminating event for our Grade 5 students as they complete their education at our Elementary School and prepare to join the Middle School in the next academic year.
Grade 11 Global Politics students attending the Geneva trip will have the opportunity to visit a number of international organisations, and gain an understanding of how they function.
The Kindergarten Graduation marks the completion of the student's years in Kindergarten. The celebration includes a presentation of certificates, a concert performed by the graduating K2 class which is then followed by class parties in the children's classrooms.

In music lessons, the children have been exploring sounds and music through action songs, dance, and playing instruments. They have been learning about the different elements of music such dynamics, duration, pitch and tempo. The Kindergarten Concert will showcase what the children have learned in Music lessons throughout this academic year.

The IGCSE Mock Examinations are designed to simulate the actual testing conditions, providing students with valuable insights into the examination format. The Mock Examinations are a vital component for students' preparation, offering the opportunity to assess their knowledge, refine exam strategies, and identify areas that may require further attention.
Let's dance! During the dance, the high school student body is given the opportunity to let loose, enjoy each other's company, and dress up in accordance to a fun theme (TBD). One of our very own students will DJ the event and create a light show to go along with the music. When the students need a break from the dancing, they will be able to get some provided refreshments including pizza, water, and soda. Details of this event will be posted in the Gazette.
The children will learn about the traditions and customs of the festival of Eid al-Fitr (Festival of Breaking the Fast), also known locally as Hari Raya Aidilfitri or Hari Raya Puasa, which marks the end of Ramadan and is an occasion celebrated by Muslims worldwide. We encourage the children to come to school dressed for the occasion.

Grade 11 Geography students attending the Barcelona trip will engage in hands-on learning by collecting and analysing primary data along the Todera River. This practical experience aims to deepen their understanding of geographical concepts. Additionally, students will explore Barcelona's sustainable and resilient city strategies, gaining insights into urban development and environmental sustainability.

Time to rock out! This event sees the best High School Bands battle it out on stage to become crowned the Best OFS School Rock Band of 2024. The UKMT Math Competition is an optional competition for Grade 9 and 10 Mathematicians. A 60 minute, 25 multiple choice challenge, encouraging mathematical reasoning, precision of thought and fluency to make students think.
The High School Theatre club is proud to present their performance of Joseph Kesselring's comedy, "Arsenic and Old Lace". Parents and students are more than welcome to come and enjoy the show, being performed in the Black Box theater. Tickets are free but required for planning purposes. All High School students will have an opportunity to sign up for the many extracurricular (ECA) and Service clubs we have available in the HS. All of these clubs are designed to extend learning in the class, help students to explore new areas of interest, and have fun! Students can sign up on Program Manager on their dashboard.

In order to celebrate the cultural diversity within our student body, different student groups have been working all semester on a range of cultural dances, music, and performances to be presented in a wonderful 'Culturefest' concert. This event is always a highlight of the High School calendar.
Grade 6 students will research and debate issues related to the origins and importance of our natural and cultural heritage. They will aim create resolutions to protect, promote and respect our global heritage, considering multiple perspectives and issues.
The Kindergarten invites all parents to join us in our celebration of the end of the first semester and the upcoming holidays. The children will entertain you with a medley of Christmas songs. The children may attend school in party clothes on this day.
The 'Middle School Talent Show' showcases the diverse and impressive talents of our Middle School students. Previous acts have included music and dance performances, poetry reading, mime artists and magicians, to name a few. Students will audition throughout the week, with the selected finalists performing in the live Talent Show on Friday, 15 December 2023.
The Grade 5 students are looking forward to their MUN experience and General Assembly. They will be delegates representing countries from around the world focusing on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

HS examinations are part of the ongoing assessments for the different range of courses taken by our students. It provides a good opportunity for our students to practice exam style conditions in readiness for their external examinations in IGCSE and IB Diploma, as well as consolidate their learning throughout the semester.
Middle School Examinations are just one part of the ongoing IB MYP assessments. It also gives our students 'real life' practice and experience with stringent examination conditions expected at High School, especially for external examinations.

November is the time to celebrate Deepavali (or ‘Diwali’), the Indian festival of lights celebrated to mark the triumph of ‘good over evil’ and ‘light over darkness’.
The Parent Association (PA) along with parent volunteers have come together to organise a Deepavali themed Coffee Morning where all OFS parents can join in and have fun!
The Deepavali (or "Diwali") celebration is a rich and fun learning experience for the children. The children will get an opportunity to explore Indian culture and learn about the significance of this "Festival of Lights" through hands-on experiences. Children are invited to come to school dressed in Indian attire.
We are excited to announce that this conference will be held in person. MUN OFS XVI has both local and overseas schools participating in a range of debates on important global issues. The conference is made up of thirteen committees including the US Senate and Arab League. For more details regarding our MUN programme, please visit: https://www.ofs.edu.sg/courses/mun/. This remains one of the biggest MUN conferences in Singapore (it is currently full and registration to outside schools closed) and provides students with a host of opportunities to build important skills, such as leadership, teamwork, communication and organisation.

Embracing Peace - the students of Global Politics at OFS are gearing up to take center stage as they lead the commemoration of the International Day of Peace. With a shared vision of promoting global harmony, these young leaders will organise an event filled with meaningful activities, engaging discussions, and creative expressions of peace. During the day, all High School students will attend an assembly where a guest speaker will discuss the importance of peace and students and staff will perform a range of music, poetry and drama.
The Parent Association (PA) invites all parents/guardians to A Talk on Crime and Drug Prevention. The talk will be given by Police Officers from the The Central Narcotics Bureau and Pasir Ris Neighbourhood Police Centre.
The Personal Project is a key element of the IB MYP. It gives our Grade 10 students the opportunity to apply all the skills they have developed throughout the IB MYP into a project of their choosing. The exhibition allows our Grade 10 students a chance to present their passion projects to students and parents/guardians and share their experiences and learning journey. This event is one of the highlights of the junior High School calendar, and the Grade 10 students never cease to impress the OFS community with their inventiveness, creativity and curiosity.
Celebrating a 'Decade of Diplomacy,' this conference will be running 16 committees with 15-25 delegates per committee. Students who wish to attend this conference are required to be part of the HS Model United Nations Club from August onwards in order to prepare for their role. A variety of committees (beginner, intermediate and advanced) are offered including: HJCC, ICC, WHO, US Senate and COP 28.
The Kindergarten invites all parents to our Internationalism Celebration, where we celebrate the rich intercultural diversity of our Kindergarten.
Students and parents are encouraged to come to school dressed in their national costume or wearing clothes representing the colours of their countries or flags.
Parents will be treated to a concert performed by our Kindergarten children, starting with a Flag processional and followed by a presentation of songs and dances from around the world.
The celebration will end with a potluck lunch in the classrooms, organised by the parents.
The 'Internationalism Celebration: Middle School Global Concert' celebrates the diverse experiences of our students, and an opportunity for them to develop a deeper understanding of the different nationalities and cultures in the OFS community. The concert will include a range of group performances from around the world.

ES Internationalism celebrations are a celebration of our international mindedness. Various activities are planned throughout the Elementary School to celebrate and explore the diverse range of cultures represented at OFS.
The ES Lunchtime concerts give students an opportunity to showcase their talents. Students are invited to audition to perform at these concerts. Performers may play an instrument, sing or dance. Auditions occur a few weeks before the actual concerts.

Languages week is a celebration of the many different Foreign and Mother Tongue Languages learnt and spoken at OFS. Fun activities exploring language and culture will happen throughout the week.

This is our annual blood drive for parents and staff that our HS Red Cross Chapters helps to organize. Singapore is in need of all blood types and your donation can help save lives. More information will be mailed out to the school community closer to the time.
The Grade 6 Camp allows students to engage in a range team building and problem-solving activities, including high elements and water adventures. The 3-day camp will allow students get to know each other better and challenge themselves to do things out of their comfort zone in a fun and safe environment.

Joining our great orators will be a special guest speaker, details of which will be unveiled through the HS gazette and other TEDx marketing. In the lead up to this event there are a range of activities and exhibitions set up by the TEDx team for our students to enjoy. These will explore the key themes of each TEDx talk delivered during the final presentations.

The evening will start with a short presentation and Q&A session, before parents will be invited to meet the Subject Area Leaders and teachers to find out more about each of the subject areas: Mathematics, Language & Literature (English), Sciences, Language Acquisition, Individuals & Societies (Humanities), Design, The Arts, Physical & Health Education, Mother Tongue and the Study Preparation Program.

Our Grade 12 students will have an opportunity to showcase their research to both students and parents/guardians during this day. The Extended Essay is a core component of the IB Diploma and offers the students an opportunity to collect both primary and secondary research exploring a question they have created regarding one or two of the IB subjects they are passionate about. Students will get to present their 4,00 word essay and discuss their learning journey. The range of topics and questions covered will make for an extremely interesting afternoon.

Given the importance of the Core, we would like to invite all parents of IB Diploma students to an online video conference meeting (via Zoom) on Monday, 28th of August from 7:00 pm to 7:45 pm to meet the key educators involved with the Core process at OFS and learn more about it.

The HS Club Fair is an opportunity for HS students to see what clubs and service activities are on offer for Semester 1.
